The New Zealand Gynaecological Cancer Foundation (NZGCF) haslaunched an educational DVD as part of gynaecological cancer awareness month, which takes place over September.
This educational tool is narrated by Shortland Street actor and NZCGFambassador Beth Allen and incorporates medical advice from Dr Ai Ling Tan, one of New Zealand's specialist gynaecological oncologists. Dr Tan explains the four main types of gynaecological cancers - ovarian, uterine, cervical and vulval - and highlights the key symptoms of each disease.
The New Zealand Gynaecological Cancer Foundation General Manager, Sarah Hutchings, says "Diagnosing the cancer as soon as possible is one of the best ways of increasing survival rates for New Zealand women. The harsh reality is that most women are not aware of the various forms of gynaecological cancer, let alone their own risk .We produced this DVD to make women aware of the early warning signs and symptoms and get them talking about this important issue.
"We are extremely grateful to the two gynaecological cancer survivors who share their experience in the DVD, helping to draw attention to some of the main symptoms and show that this is a disease that can affect people of all ages, even those that are otherwise healthy and fit."
The DVD will be distributed to health professionals across New Zealand and through the NZGCF networks to be used as part of corporate wellness programmes, share and care events, on marae, and by community groups for educational sessions.

With a sad heart I'm letting you know that www.bethallen.net is no longer online.
It was the first Beth Allen fan site out there.....and I really really looked up to it.
When I opened my own, I really doubted for a long while if I should at all - because Overdose always seemed like something hard to live up to.
But G. stopped updating the site in 2008 and has now chosen to close it permanently. I do hope to upload his screencaps to BD, so that you'll still be able to enjoy those.
Hopefully you'll find all the information you need about Beth from Beautiful Dreamer now.
The only Beth Allen fan site out there...... wow. I feel the responsibility.
That was the bad news.....now on to the good news:
there is an official forum for The Tribe again, run by Cloud9!
You can find it and register here: http://thetribeforum.com
And Tribe Universe Fan Community has a new url and cool new features, so please re-register:
Beth / Brooke and All Blacks! Shortland Street's special edition for rugby season. (more photos)

Tribe fan Corinna was kind enough to share the photo of herself and Beth Allen on Tribe Tour 2003 (Germany, Darmstadt) with us.
Beth recently attended a charity event to support animal welfare. SO many lovely cupcakes and cute dogs!
SPCA Auckland would like to say a huge thank you to all of our supporters who have made this year a great success. We were very touched by the generosity of Aucklanders who not only donated, but also shared words of support, and stories of the pets they had adopted from us.
We were very lucky to have Beth Allen and Sally Martin from Shortland Street, and Emmett Skilton and Ben Barrington from The Almight Johnsons, join us on the streets to help promote the day.

Don't forget to place your bid - this Saturday already, a chance to buy a guided tour on Shortland Street set. And tour guide - Beth Allen herself.

All the updated infromation on The Tribe, and on the books that are about to be released, can now be found on Tribe Revival 2011 page. Also, The Tribe MOVIE is currently in pre-production and will be released in 2014.
Also, I have added a batch of wallpapers by Nemesis which had previously slipped through the cracks.

Adding the magazine scan photos to the "Sexy Secrets" article. Beth looks fantastic in those.
Also, Beth is participating in a sort of fundraiser to help a local toddler playgroup. She's offered to be a tour guide on Shortland Street set:
Bid & Boogie Night to Raise the Roof for Titirangi Toddlers
A unique evening of art and entertainment promises big names and lots of fun in its 'bid' to save local playgroup.
Dean Buchanan, Tracey Tawhiao and Philippa Crane are just someof the leading artists contributing pieces for an auction and dance in support of the Titirangi Rudolf Steiner Playgroup.
The playgroup faces a massive fundraising task to complete its building for Department of Education compliance. The event issupported by Sir Bob Harvey, who has donated a life-size paintingby Peter Hackett, of NZ Olympic athlete Sir Peter Snell - signed bythe subject.
The auction is not just for artworks. Actor Beth Allen has offered a guided tour of the Shortland Street set.
MC for the night is current affairs journalist and FairGo presenter Phil Vine.Music to boogie to comes courtesy of "cabaret punk" bigband Macombee And The Absolute Truth, and local band Giddyup, ledby ex-Pudding member Pete Force, who promises a bit of"lyrical rock 'n' roll .'
And because it's Steiner there'll also be something for thecraft devotees too, plus a raffle where winners can enjoy $300 ofdesigner Miranda Brown clothing, an amazing array of massage andyoga packages. Supper included in ticket. Cash bar.
Parent Julia Woolf: "There is nothing like this playgroup anywhere else in West Auckland. It's a beautiful setting, surrounded by bush, and the groups are small. The children learn about the seasons, baking, music, crafts and how to be with others. This playgroup has given us parents so much support& knowledge too. It's time we gave something back."
What: Bid & Boogie Night
When: Saturday 13 August2011 Time: 7.30 - 11pm
Where:Titirangi Memorial Hall, 500 South Titirangi Road, Titirangi

I guess congratulations are in order?
I have added Beth´s voice example to the biography page (thanks to her agency, Johnson&Laird) - she talks mainly about fried chicken in it, but a red cross is also mentioned.
